Spam musubi is a popular snack in Hawaii.
It is composed of a slice of grilled spam and a block of rice wrap with a piece of seaweed.
IMPORTANT POINTS TO TAKE NOTE!
- In the original recipe, it's suppose to content Mirin in the sauce. However, I can't find any Mirin, so I made a little twist to the sauce
- Use the spam container as mould
Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoon light soy sauce
- 1/2 Tablespoon honey
- Cooked Rice
- Spam
- Seaweed
- Oil
1. To make the sauce, mix the light soy sauce and honey into a bowl.
2. Slice the spam.
3. Add oil into the pan and grill the spam.
4. Put a layer of sauce on both sides of the spam and continue grilling it until brown.
5. Line the spam container with cling wrap.
6. In the spam container, compress a layer of rice at the bottom.
7. Place the grilled spam on top of the rice.
8. Remove from the container.
9. Wrap a piece of seaweed around the block.
10. Enjoy!
